WELCOME!

THIS BLOG IS FOR TEACHERS AND FUTURE TEACHERS WHO...

...ARE BECOMING MORE CONSCIOUS OF STUDENT DIFFERENCES.

... WANT TO EXPLORE HOW TO HONOR THE DIFFERENCES IN THEIR STUDENTS.

... DESIRE TO USE DATA-BASED DECISION MAKING TO FRONTLOAD STUDENT SUCCESS.

It's a transformational process that begins in the very first class of the course, Differentiated Instruction!

It's a Transformational Process!

T.R.A.N.S.F.O.R.M.A.T.I.O.N.

Each new semester, at Rowan University, undergraduate students enter DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION classes thinking a certain way about the teaching/learning process and often in somewhat of a coccoon, as a student. Much like the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly, the Differentiated Instruction course (partnered with a field experience and this blog) pushes, stretches, stresses, challenges, and finally empowers each student to begin flying as a teacher.

Transformation begins in the first class, of the semester, with activities that jumpstart the process of becoming a teacher who honors and teaches to the differences in students. The blog starts anew, each semester, with a posting, either weekly or bi-weekly, for students in Differentiated Instruction classes at Rowan University.

Thank you for visiting!

Enjoy the transformation,
Patti Sikes (blog designer and course coordinator)
